Swell de Spirits Hampden 2013 #

Dieser Rum wurde 2013 von der Hampden Destillerie aus Melasse in Jamaica hergestellt.

Er reifte für 7 Jahre auf Jamaica im tropischen Klima und 2 weitere Jahre in UK. Zudem durfte der Rum 5 Monate in einem Ex – New Yarmouth Jamaica Rumfass nachreifen. Im Februar 2023 (02/2023) wurde er in Fassstärke mit 66.30% abgefüllt. Für die Destillation wurde eine Pot Still verwendet.

Tasting Notes von Swell des Spirits

Color: Amber

Nose: Esters sing songs of rubber and bananas, dirty funk, lemongrass, flax seeds, duck tamarind, hyacinths and cloves. There’s tarnished metal, boat polish, graphite, and mud mask packs.

On the palate: It’s funk and dirty with aromas of tires, flambéed overripe bananas,
dark chocolate, paprika, lemongrass, currant jelly, grass, very fresh sugar cane, rye bread and chrome “Art Deco” trays.

Finish: Rubber fins and tuba, hazelnuts in milk chocolate, vanilla essence and
overripe bananas in a tamarind sauce on a metal plate, plus Darjeeling tea at the very end of the very long and lingering finish.

Conclusion: A dram you won’t forget, full of surprises and intense flavors!
